Old test results
The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Application installs (see below for what has to be done to run it)
Sketchup 8.0 seems to be working much better than previous versions of sketchup in previous versions of Mint Linux distribution.
User interface is flicker free and there aren't graphical glitches that were present before. I have desktop effects such as wobbling windows enabled.
What does not
I haven't found any problem besides the crash after install.
Workaround:
Run regedit, create key[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\SketchUp8\GLConfig\Display]
create DWord value:
"HW_OK"=dword:00000001
After that Sketchup 8.0 runs
fine.
What was not tested
I haven't tested all features of Sketchup 8.0
Additional Comments
Linux Mint 11 - Katya is based on Ubuntu 11.4, So I expect that Sketchup will run on Ubuntu as well.
I didn't vote for Gold rating only because I haven't tested all features yet, and you still need regedit workaround after first install.

Winetricks: Google SketchUp 8 CheckSum mismatch
by Bing Crossbow on Sunday June 10th 2012, 11:26
Winetricks (part of my Wine 1.4 installation) can't install Google SketchUp 8 as the automatically downloaded file repeatedly gives incorrect checksum result.
I'm a Noob to Wine/Ubuntu (Precise Pangolin)... what can I do or is this a Google error? Please be gentle.
Do you need a shell script to run it on Wine?
by Greg on Tuesday January 3rd 2012, 23:14
If you interpret 'Do you' as meaning 'Does one', the answer is yes.
The actual question is for you to answer. I have written a simple one. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to upload it on AppDB, so let me know if you want me to send it to you. It's small - 111 Bytes.

Had to switch the value of the regedit key to "1" to get past the error message: SketchUp was unable to initialize OpenGL! Please make sure you have installed the correct drivers for your graphics card.
Error: ChoosePixelFormat failed.

Problem: keyboard commands, e.g. spacebar change to select, p to push, do not work, can only invoke using the mouse
If the keyboard shortcuts don't work by default (they should, and they worked in previous versions), you can assign new shortcuts in the preferences.

Focus lost when entering numbers
by Tsu Dho Nimh on Wednesday September 15th 2010, 19:58
Does not allow me to enter text in the text input fields for scaling objects. If I move the cursor to the field, it appears to lose focus on the object.
I don't know if this is normal or not, but the help files indicate that you can resize objects by entering the desired dimensions as text.
