Old test results
The test results for this version are very old, and as such they may not represent the current state of Wine. Please consider submitting a new test report.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Same as with 12.04, all normal design functions work as intended.
What does not
Exporting pictures to any format different from *.skp fails, the resulting images are empty or completely black.
Printing does not work.
What was not tested
Any function which requires net-access.
Additional Comments
With Ubuntu 12.10 SketchUp renders complex images much slower than before. Manipulating the view-angle or moving objects results in part of the image being not immediately refreshed, but details to be omitted until resources become available again. This is frightening.

Winetricks: Google SketchUp 8 CheckSum mismatch
by Bing Crossbow on Sunday June 10th 2012, 11:26
Winetricks (part of my Wine 1.4 installation) can't install Google SketchUp 8 as the automatically downloaded file repeatedly gives incorrect checksum result.
I'm a Noob to Wine/Ubuntu (Precise Pangolin)... what can I do or is this a Google error? Please be gentle.
Do you need a shell script to run it on Wine?
by Greg on Tuesday January 3rd 2012, 23:14
If you interpret 'Do you' as meaning 'Does one', the answer is yes.
The actual question is for you to answer. I have written a simple one. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to upload it on AppDB, so let me know if you want me to send it to you. It's small - 111 Bytes.

Had to switch the value of the regedit key to "1" to get past the error message: SketchUp was unable to initialize OpenGL! Please make sure you have installed the correct drivers for your graphics card.
Error: ChoosePixelFormat failed.
OK
Problem: keyboard commands, e.g. spacebar change to select, p to push, do not work, can only invoke using the mouse
If the keyboard shortcuts don't work by default (they should, and they worked in previous versions), you can assign new shortcuts in the preferences.

Focus lost when entering numbers
by Tsu Dho Nimh on Wednesday September 15th 2010, 19:58
Does not allow me to enter text in the text input fields for scaling objects. If I move the cursor to the field, it appears to lose focus on the object.
I don't know if this is normal or not, but the help files indicate that you can resize objects by entering the desired dimensions as text.
