Additional Comments
Installed vcrun2005sp1 and d3dx9 via winetricks and installed from setup.exe on the DVD. Ran the game from the series launcher shortcut created during installation.

* This may be due to poor xorg.conf settings on my part. I worked around resolution problems by running it inside a virtual desktop (inside which the game gives a full range of resolution options).
