FAQ

The game switches desktop resolution when launched, but freezes and stays in a black screen.

You should run Launcher.exe, not NFS11.exe

I can't activate the game.

You have to install via Winetricks "msxml3" to successfully activate the game.

The game is running slow (10-20 fps).

If you have NVIDIA card, update your video drivers to version 310.x

The message "Controller was not configured ..." appears constantly.

See the corresponding bug report.

Performance has doubled with the patch mentioned here bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31078

After applying a patch I can play comfortable with GeForce 9600 GSO.

Confirmed Garbage
by WineFan62 on Sunday November 21st 2010, 10:54
I tried it too, with retail DVD and wine 1.2 to 1.3.7 :
-Install run fine (a little long perhaps)
-Need to untick EA Download Manager install cause it fail to work with wine
-Launcher.exe (just a front-end launching Config then game), ConfigTool.exe and NFS11.exe hang in the exact same way.
