COM ports are not available unless the WINE registry is modified.
Received data is not correctly echoed to the screen from a COM port or dial-up modem.
Attempted to make a TCP/IP (Winsock) connection to an FTP server, the server's welcome message was displayed, but no keystrokes appeared to be sent from HyperTerminal.

Hilgraeve Inc. supplies HyperTerminal Private Edition free for your personal use if: (a) you are using it on a machine that you own; or (b) you are a student, faculty member or staff member of an educational institution (K-12, junior college, college or library) or an employee of a charitable not-for-profit organization (e.g. IRS 509 (a) excluding government); or (c) your use of HyperTerminal Private Edition is for the purpose of evaluating whether to purchase an ongoing license. The evaluation period for use by or on behalf of a commercial or government entity is 15 days.
