Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Installation, gameplay. Good framerate as of my hardware.
What does not
here are some graphical artifacts on "Lowest" settings. Changing them to higher, or restarting computer solves problem - thus possible it is problem with my graphics card. Sometimes freezes when reloading checkpoint after death. Similary sometimes freezes seemingly randomly - I think it is releated to the too much sound samples played at once. Mouse do not works in menu - it essentially stays in the center whole time. Need to navigate using keyboard.
What was not tested
multiplayer
Additional Comments
Intel Core2Duo. Nvidia 8600GT. Needed to install and manually copy VC80 runtime.
crashes/freezes sometimes when reloading save point.

Installer
by Marisa Kirisame on Friday September 28th 2012, 9:46
For some reason the installer refuses to let me choose a folder different from the default.
I want to have it in a different partition (set to G:\) where I have all my games, but once I select the folder it just goes back to default value.

Resolution problem
by Jordi on Tuesday July 5th 2011, 14:56
Hi!!
I have setup a dualhead setup on my machine and resolution in the game is set at 2880x900. I try to click the resolution to change it ingame but cannot change it. I can click it, but resolution does not change.
I can set it up with "wine explorer /desktop=Crysis,1440x900" but then mouse escapes window and is unplayable.
I have checked the game config file but did not find any option to set up the game ressolution
Another issue is that game recognizes my graphics card as an nvidia 8300 GS (I have a GTX 560). So far the game has run veeery smoothly. Is it safe to simply ignore this? O should I set up the graphics card on the wine registry?
Crysis 2 Sound
by Raiden on Saturday June 25th 2011, 13:30
Im on wine 1.3.20 and i have crysis 2 successfully installed and running. I have it set on the lowest graphics settings (which are still pretty goddam impressive) on 1400x1050 screen res and the performance is just as good as on Windows 7 which is part of a dual boot with Linux Mint 10 on my machine. Framerates are decent, the shaders seem to be working as of yet and most everything renders properly. Occasionally there will be some black boxes on certain textures and transparencies but nothing that makes it completely unplayble. Sound is the issue. Its unreliable at best on my system. I have gotten it to work of all of twice but it works just fine when it does work. I have played around with all the sound drivers and none seem to work reliably. Have not tried Multiplayer. Overall things work well and i have to say that i am impressed. I normally dont give wine this much credit seeing as it failed to install GHIII on my system and the original crysis just locks up on the first splash screen.
Crysis 2 - My Result
by Tiago Domingues on Saturday May 14th 2011, 16:11
Ok, i'm in debian stable and was able to put crysis 2 to run in wine 1.3.19, indeed with direct3d configuration from above the game is playable but...
I have I7 with a Quadro FX880M (1GB) and the biggest problem to me is my enemy has black shadows, if you shot the bushes and leafs the black spots appear... i have tried to increase graphic quality but seems doesn't do anything, i have use crysis 2 advanced config tool, autoexec in root folder, in the game if you press \ you see in the green letters it assume the settings but one more time doesn't seem to do anything regarding the black spots, maybe it's because in the beginning of the game it says my graphic card is unsupported, it happens to you to??? what you put on regedit to assume or graphic card (DeviceID and VendorID) it's dword or a string??
Beside that black spots, the game seems to run fine, with enough fps, but for me its not gold...black spots on the enemy, and when you fire to them instead of blood..here we go, black spots...
about freezes and crashes
by eugenio on Sunday May 8th 2011, 10:16
AS everybody noticed, sometimes (apparently with no reason) the game
crashes trying to re-load the game once you died.
I found that deactivating the audio , makes the game no longer freeze up , so probably it's a problem of free-audio-channels aviable ....
someone's found a workaround ???
about shadows glitches
by eugenio on Tuesday May 3rd 2011, 5:06
i found a amateur utility working very well that allows you to change graphic settings in depth.it's called Crysis2AdvancedGraphicsOptions
and it can be found here:
www.mediafire.com/?bj65ya2w0e84e3b requires mono libraries to be installed trough wintetricks
so you can deactivate shadows avoiding annoying glitches or try to make'em work.
so dudes test it and tell your results .... have fun now crysis 2 work almost perfectly.
