With openGL libraries installed, the program runs successfully. On running a green grid mesh and a crosshair mouse cursor are displayed (and the normal mouse cursor not hidden - that's probably an existing bug) - whilst the crosshair mouse cursor is responsive, there are no on-screen elements to interact with.
