I don't know the exact version and I don't know if it's completely free to use at this time (Awem has them as downloads from their main page). In fact I got the german version.

What works
Wine versions from 1.3.19 seem to work flawlessly in XP mode. I can play the game, save it, even copy it to another machine and play it from there. It maybe better to have it in window mode, otherwise it switches your X to 640x480 fullscreen...
What does not
Sound is working, but only when you put it in emulated mode. When you use hardware accellerated sound you can play one level which never ends, when you finish it. Music stops, mouse can be moved but nothing can be clicked anymore, it's just hanging.
What was not tested
I guess, I tested everything which could be tested. What else should be there besides of: Install, play, save, end the game, restart it, copy it to another computer and play it on that machine? There's nothing more to test.
Additional Comments
Versions before 1.3 had the problem that you can play exactly one time after install. Afterwards it never starts again. I also tested it on natty 64 bit, same problems below wine version 1.3.19, but from 1.3.19 everything seems to be fine.
