HOWTO

To work around the msvcp90 bugs, delete or rename ­this file: 

~/.wine/drive_c/windows/winsxs/manifests/x86_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.4148_none_deadbeef.manifest

Note that Wine will recreate that file every time you upgrade. To avoid this, make the directory read-only.  ­
To work around bug 29045, install Times New Roman and Courier New, either systemwide or with winetricks.

Does not appear to work with Ubuntu 11 under latest version of wine. Keeps telling me it has an error that made it close.

HOWTO - Fix crash when opening books

The application will crash on opening a book because of missing fonts. You will have to use winetricks (see wiki.winehq.org/winetricks/ ).
After downloading and installing winetricks call

winetricks allfonts

which will provide the fonts. After that opening a book should work.
