How to run Zero No Kiseki

Visual C++ Runtime Error

You'll need a Simhei (simhei.ttf) font from Windows (or google), drop that to the WINEPREFIX/drive_c/windows/Fonts directory.

Distorted sound and game crashes on title screen

For now, rename sound3d.dll in dll directory to something else, or disable audio driver from wine registry.

Since wine 1.4.78 ZnK works without crashing, however no audio can be heard.
It seems the various dsound/mmapi fixes have been doing their job.

Since wine has recently been under major audio overhaul, ZnK audio might work on older wine.
...

So, I looked into the issue. Here is a patch that fixes the audio issues:
Add extra handling for unbuffered MMIO handles (1.85 KB, patch)

It's not 100% tested and it might break other applications.
The patch is confirmed to not pass all tests on windows, so it's merely a workaround.
