The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
HiRezLauncherUI.exe
HiRezGamesDiagAndSupport.exe
What does not
Nothing else.
Particularly the HiPatchService.exe which crashes.
Without this patching service the Launcher can't update or download the game and the game can't start.
It is unknown if the game itself actually runs.
What was not tested
The game itself.
Additional Comments
To get as far as I did.
Fresh prefix
winetricks dotnet35
wine the tribes client installer
it will crash with
err:ole:NDRCContextBinding invalid handle 0x1455550 in terminal
ctrl+c after that and it will leave the launcher files intact
wine the HiRezLauncherUI.exe

1.4 update
by Reed on Saturday March 10th 2012, 1:22
Installs now, but never successfully patches.
I tried copying over a successful install from Windows and running TribesAscend.exe directly (skipping the launcher), but it fails to run, looking for DX11 dlls - d3dx11_43, X3DAudio1_7, XPAOFX1_5. This happens copying an up to date install from Windows 7 or Windows XP.
As a side note I also tried to run the game in VirtualBox, but it doesn't run because Virtualbox doesn't support Shader Model 3.0 yet.
Attempting to install on the "c:" drive still yields a "Failed to start the Hi-Rez Studios Authenticate and Update Service" error. Which ends with a complete un-install of the application due to the error. This is probably due to the fact that the "service" is a .NET application.
I am currently copying a VM based install to Linux to see if a workaround is possible.
