This is the 3rd expansion for Sins of a Solar Empire. This is the first standalone one so you can enjoy the series without owning the original.
The time of Diplomacy is over. The length of the war and differing
opinions on what should be done to bring the war to an end has led to a
splintering of the groups involved. The controlling powers-that-be have
depleted arsenals and seemed to have exhausted all efforts of diplomacy.
Trapped in a stalemate, sub-factions have rebelled and broken off the
main alignments. Rebellion is upon us.

I've had some problems with graphics. The game set my resolution to 1024x768 while my monitor is 1280x1024. I've fixed this by enabling "Emulate Desktop" in winecfg and set the resolution to 1280x1024. The game doesn't show available resolutions in options anymore and runs only windowed, however it's fine and takes 95% of the screen ;)
Just saying, because it can be useful to someone...

I try to boot up the game, game boots up however it doesn't display anything on the screen. I hear sound the cursor shows and I'm able to find some buttons because they click when the cursor is over them. however the screen is completely black.

I actually watched the debug logs and saw that it was complaining it could not find the 32-bit libssl library (I'm using Fedora 16 x86_64) when I clicked the register button. Once I installed the libssl.i686 package the registration completed successfully.
Now the game runs, and I can navigate all the menus and so on, but I can't actually start a game up. I get to the loading screen after choosing AI, my race/allegiance, setting up all the options, etc and it crashes after a few seconds of trying to load. I'm not sure what's happening here yet, but I made a mess out of the wineprefix trying to get the registration working, so I'll probably nuke it and give it another go. If you're getting beyond that point, it seems like I should be able to as well :)
