You can create configuration files manually, are simple xml

if you want to run the Launcher, you also need the Net Framework 2.0 and msxml3

I start the game with:

WINEARCH=win32 WINEDEBUG=fixme-all,d3d-all,err-all,-all schedtool -a 0x1 -e wine Sonic.exe

Multi-core CPUS
  • For some reason the game becomes extremely slow in cpus that have multiple cores. To resolve this, install the schedtool and start the game with the command:

$ schedtool -a 0x1 -e wine Sonic.exe

In case you want to play with gamepads, download this:
virusdev.ovh.org/files/xinputemu%20[obsolete]/x360ce%20vibmod%203.1.4.1.zip
Extract in the game folder, edit x360ce.ini to map your buttons, and have fun.
