This patch makes several important fixes and improvements (especially in multiplayer connectivity.)
You will need to have already installed the Dark Reign Patch v1.2 (offered above) or the Dark Reign: Rise of the Shadowhand expansion pack for this update to work.

Update immediately to 1.2 and 1.4 before playing the game. Otherwise patching and playing 1.4 doesn't work!

This update includes all the old v1.1 patch functionality as well as a host of new improvements. You do not need to have installed the previous patch for this update to work, but if you did that's OK as well. If you have already installed the Dark Reign: Rise of the Shadowhand expansion pack, you do not need to get this patch. You must have one or the other installed, however, to get the final update, patch v1.4
