The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Setup
"kiosk.exe" - Kiosk mode of this game, offering only a few functionalities of this simulator game, but at least gets you airborne... :D
"fs9.exe" - Main executable works, menus are drawn properly if you install "ie6" via winetricks. But game crashes when clicking "Fly now!"...
No more texture bug as it could be found in previous wine versions
Joystick
What does not
Simulator crashes as soon as you try to load a custom scenario or change some parameters in the menus. You can only get airborne by using the kiosk mode at the moment
Videos in menu-system, minor problem
What was not tested
Multiplayer and extensive gameplay
Additional Comments
Geforce 8, Nvidia driver version 195.36.24
virtual desktop used
winetricks ie6 needed for menus
---
used OEM-disc which does not have any copy protection. Maybe a no-cd patch is needed if you use the original version (I prefer 1 dvd to 4 cds :D )
---
For 4 CDs installation, ignore automount in /media and manually u/mount each CD:
sudo mount /dev/sr0 /cdrom
sudo umount /dev/sr0 /cdrom
start not from inside the cdrom dir:
wine /cdrom/FS*/Setup.exe
after the install is finished use winetricks to install directplay
add the default automount cdrom drive /media... to:
winecfg --> add app FS9
