Running the game after CD fix (below), changing options around (including resolution), first singleplayer mission.
Giants could not find the CD when trying to launch the game, yet it found it when installing. A NoCD crack did not work for me, but mapping Z: to the Giants CD did. There will be repercussions when it comes to running applications not placed inside the .wine prefix if you do so, therefore I do not recommend it.
What does not
Multiplayer.
Installing DirectPlay via Winetricks solves the initial problem at Bug14721, but this issue is replaced with:
"Cannot host a multiplayer game (Code 80158320). Is there a network connection?"
What was not tested
Later campaign levels.
Additional Comments
I do not see the Wintry Cool Game Error screen for my problem in multiplayer, only a dialogue box which can be acknowledged to resume playing the game with no problems.
