dbghelp now crashes after nvidia 319.72
by darkstego on Friday December 13th 2013, 19:22
Updated video driver and now battle.net crashes immediately after login when dbghelp is set to disabled. Retested on fresh PC install and it works fine up until the point nvidia drivers are updated.

If I enable dbghelp then battle.net will crash after 15 seconds, allowing me to start any pre-installed before the launcher crashes. Started games will run without any problems.

I wonder if anyone has experienced this or something similar, or has any possible fixes (that doesn't involve disabling nvidia drivers).

Launcher not connecting
by Mario on Monday November 18th 2013, 17:11
I can't find a solution to why the launcher does not go past the updating part. It gets stuck on "Checking for updates".
If I run Battle.net.exe instead, the best I can get is the main screen with the "Oops" connection error.

After doing the "dbghelp" fix, I could login successfully, but after, no further than updating with the client... Tried manually running the Agent.exe, placing it in the respective folders for ready use, to no avail.

Hopefully somebody can suggest a way to actually get to the Play button, haven't made any progress in the past few days.

Does not need wininet
by Marko on Thursday October 17th 2013, 3:42
I just installed the app and I can confirm that wininet is not needed. Saves that 140 MB download (which is quite hefty with a slow connection like I have).

Launching a game
by Dan Johansen on Tuesday September 24th 2013, 0:06
When I try to launch a game (example: Diablo 3) I get this output in terminal and no game launching:

[code]I 05:05:14.010008 [GameController] {Main} LaunchGame: uid=diablo3 regionOverride=EU
D 05:05:14.010283 [ProductState] {Main} InstallState (diablo3): gameRunning=1
I 05:05:14.183101 [InstallManager] {Main} Game launch options: game=D3 CONNECTION_STRING= GAME_ACCOUNT=D3-1 REGION=EU
D 05:05:14.221794 [InstallManager] {Main} Operation status changed: diablo3, type=4, status=1
D 05:05:14.221918 [InstallManager] {Main} Game is running: diablo3
D 05:05:19.332026 [InstallManager] {Main} Operation status changed: diablo3, type=4, status=0
D 05:05:19.332119 [InstallManager] {Main} Game is no longer running: diablo3
D 05:05:19.332695 [ProductState] {Main} InstallState (diablo3): gameRunning=0[/code]

Any idea what might cause this? No error logs are generated in Diablo 3 folders or Battle.net folders.

Also, wine 1.4 is ancient. Grab at least version 1.6

When I attempt an installation on Wine 1.4 x64 Crunchbang x64, it tells me: "Failed to run a required program (Battle.net Update Agent). Wait one minute and try again and if that doesn't work please restart your computer and try again."

I have dbghelp disabled.

Do I need a win32 WINEARCH?

Stopping the crash
by Josh Raymond on Sunday August 18th 2013, 19:28
I posted a test report that will soon be posted (hopefully) detailing how well the app runs.

To restate from the previous comment:
To prevent the crash from occuring after login, add the library "dbghelp" to the list of libraries in the winecfg window, and set it from "Native, builtin" to "Disabled"
Upon launching the battle.net app after making this change it will no longer crash after loading your account information.

The only problems I can find is drop-down menus appear sluggish in appearing, normally I have to mouseover where the box would appear for it to appear, but after that it works fine. The second problem is the news does not load in and will present an error on the app interface. This seems to be a small error that doesn't affect the apps preformance otherwise.

getting this to work
by Silviu C. on Saturday August 17th 2013, 6:03
Guys, try setting dbghelp to "disabled" in the Libraries tab of the Wine configuration utility.

This seemed to do the trick for me.
