For running on Intel Graphics System

Problem:

Medal of honor crashes upon startup on Intel Graphics when running under Wine 1.3.

Cause:

Due to Graphics Subsystem Drivers and the way it handles long extensions for OpenGL. The application fails to start.

Resolution:

- Open Terminal
- Enter MESA_EXTENSION_MAX_YEAR=2003 wine moh_Breakthrough.exe to run the application

Known issues:

- My testing shows that Medal of Honor is still incompatible with Wine 1.4 as well as Wine 1.5. You will need Wine 1.3 along with the MESA_EXTENSION parameter as I described above to run the application. Tested Multiplayer as well under Wine 1.3 - Working no problems.

Mouse problems

Even with seta in_mouse -1 mouse movement still lags a lot. I've tested with wine 1.0.1 + Ubuntu 9.04.

upgrading wine brings new problems
by fett_ on Saturday January 3rd 2009, 9:43
After upgrading to the latest wine, now when I hold down the mouse button it stutters.

This means the MG and SMG are useless now. You hold down the mouse button and it fires a round or two and then stops. You can only play on rifle only servers.

Guess I'll try virtualbox instead of this POS.

Mouse Errors
by Nordmende on Friday January 2nd 2009, 12:01
Graphics ans Sound wort fine with wine 1.1.11

But the 180° Mouse Angle Error still occurs _only_ in Spearhead - not in the Basic Game Allied Assault.
Also the mouse is in near the bottom and the right side of the main menu VERY slow.

Also ' seta in_mouse "-1" ' command which works for AA dont works for SH :(

works but not ideally
by fett_ on Tuesday October 28th 2008, 17:12
I did all the fixes listed under allied assault to get this to work.

First I just copied over my MOHAA folder from my windows partition. I didn't try the installer or anything. I am also using the nocd version of spearhead.

Then I ran the regedit fix listed on the other pages, the seta in_mouse -1 fix, and passed -opengl to get it to start without crashing.

It runs, but the big problem is that after I click the mouse, it takes a half second or so before the gun fires. So time after time I'm looking at someone waiting for my gun to fire, they turn around and kill me right away.

Close, but no cigar. Maybe only games older than 2002 will work properly with Wine.
