Installation from discs.

Loading/playing samples.
Use of virtual midi devices to play instruments.
Drag & drop of connection wires.
Normal use.
What does not
Auto-detection of MIDI control surfaces.
Application won't start if Gnome desktop effects are enabled.
Real-time surface drawing - this application is very slow with its interface and tracking.
What was not tested
Nothing.
Additional Comments
When playing songs, the position indicator and all other indicators of instrument and rack activation choke up and are not updated. Play/Stop/Pause buttons are still functional and all the graphics update when the stop button is pressed. The sound will continue perfectly, with no clipping or skipping. This app has lots of visual lag, especially when scrolling up and down the front interface.
Bug #4888 seems to still be in effect. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4888 It describes perfectly the "unusual slowness" this app shows in the visual department.
Great sound compatibility and rendering, no audio artifacts at all.
use winecfg to switch the windows-version to "windows xp".
2. - if you've got troubles with the "Factory Sound Bank"-CD and
the "Orkester Sound Bank"-CD at the first run of Reason, you
should make iso image-copies of the cd's, copy them wherever
you want, mount the iso-images, open winecfg and add the mount-
points as drives in the "Drives"-section.
3. - right-click on the "Enter Serial" and "Waiting for CD.." window-bars in the task-bar and use the move-function to get
the windows to front (they are actually covered by the reason-
splash-screen.
Please make sure your version of Wine is up to date. --MK

Although I mount the cds
by Jorge Azevedo on Wednesday October 1st 2008, 23:56
Although I mount the cds I still can't get reason to recognize them. I tried opening one of the files in the cds with notepad, and the cds were all there and accessible.
Strange isn't it? What's a good way to tackle it? I'm thinking of downloading different isos and trying them out...
