HOWTO

Installation:

I recommend creating a new wine directory for large applications to avoid corrupting your default wine directory. However this step is not necessary, to a create new wine directory use wine prefix:

wineprefixcreate --prefix {DIR_NAME}

Afterwards start the installation with the following command

env WINEPREFIX="/home/{USERNAME}/{DIR_NAME}" wine /CD-ROM/setup.exe

Running:

Run:

env WINEPREFIX="/home/{USERNAME}/{DIR_NAME}" winecfg

and set up the game to use ALSA sound. The games cut scenes will not work in till you install the indeo codec, get it here ~ http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Ligos-Indeo-Codec-Download-14540.html

Install the codec in the same wine directory as the game is installed and launch the game with:

env WINEPREFIX="/home/{USERNAME}/{DIR_NAME}" wine "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Nightfire\Bond.exe"

You can also launch the game with these commands added on for the following effect

WINEDEBUG=-d3d = Speeds up menu

+console 1 = Enables cheats

WINEDEBUG=-all = Speeds up menu / disables fixme messages

I downloaded Indeo without a problem, but when I try to install it, the installation process freezes where it reports, “Searching for instances of NETSCAPE, Please Wait ….”

In order to get around this problem, follow this method instead for installation:

- Double-click the installation file
- Choose “Custom” set up. A number of options will appear
- Scroll down the list to “Web Browser Plugin”
- UNCHECK ” Web Browser Plugin
- Follow prompts to the finish

Also untick every compression lib and the direct x one cause it will cause problems with the install because of wine directx
