Installer (/cdrom/Setup.exe) failed with a complaint of a page fault.
Obviously I had to try starting the game from the CD.
First make sure you are in a directory containing binkw32.dll...
> cd /cdrom/bink/Win2k/
Then start wine...
> wine /cdrom/Civilization3.exe
