What works
App installs and runs quite fine, with some minor bugs.
What does not
Using hotkey in fullscreen applications, such as games (i.e counter
strike, guild wars) won't quite work. Sometimes sound won't work.
But i found quite good solution as far Guild Wars
is concerned. I run the game in window mode, and select by right-click
on Vent window - "Always on Visible Workspace" - with that option,
sound and whole voice communication works good. Also hotkey (push to
talk) works fine.
What was not tested
- Only Ventrilo version 2.1.4 was tested
- Other codecs
Additional Comments
To have the App fully working we need to do 2 things after instalation.
1. From the Windows directory we look for file c:/windows/msgsm32.acm then copy it to ./wine/drive_c/windows/system
2. We edit file ./wine/drive_c/windows/sytem.ini
We add line "MSACM.msgsm610=msgsm32.acm"
And it will work fine.
