Abe's
peaceful retirement was shattered when visited by a vision from the
Three Weirdos. Abe learned the Magog Cartel was mining Necrum, the
sacred Mudokon city of the dead, to collect bones to make
super-addictive SoulStorm Brew.
After freeing the Mudokon spirits imprisoned in the
Mudanchee and Mudomo Vaults, Abe gained scary powers from the Weirdos,
including the ability to heal his Mudokon friends of SoulStorm
addiction, and the power to turn invisible. Infiltrating the
transportation hub of FeeCo Depot, and using explosive farts to survive
adventures at the Slig Barracks and Bonewerks, Abe broke into SoulStorm
Brewery.
There Abe learned the truth behind the secret
ingredient of SoulStorm Brew . . . just before blasting the place to
atoms with the combined power of the sobered-up Mudokon he'd rescued.
Then Abe joined his brew-addled pals at Alf's Rehab & Tea to take
the cure - the journey of a lifetime starts with one step. Or is it
twelve?

"Incorrect version of Windows"
by Fincer on Sunday March 6th 2011, 7:32
I installed sweet game today on my Ubuntu 10.04 (Wine 1.3.14). Installation progress succeeded, no problems at all. However, when trying to open the game itself (Exoddus.exe or Auto.exe in CD), I get following error popup:
"Incorrect version of Windows"
Sorry, not supported on Windows NT.
The error message appears, no matter whether I configure the game to use Windows XP, ME, 2000, Vista, 98 etc. on Wine settings. I have tried Desktop mode (640x480), reinstalled Abe's Exoddus twice or three times, and no solution. I guess I'm missing maybe a DLL file, so the game is not able to run correctly. I rejected the DirectX version installation which was suggested by the setup program, so the problem must be within the configuration of Wine & Exoddus. Wine installation is not, however, corrupted, because it is able to run all other games correctly, even Abe's Oddysee - but not Exoddus.
Computer short tech specs:
Asus 1215N Eee PC
Wine version: 1.3.14
Operating System: Easypeasy 1.6, Ubuntu 10.04, kernel 2.6.32-29-generic (lucid)
Graphics in use: Intel Corporation N10 Family Integrated Graphics Controller (Kernel driver & Kernel modules: i915)
So, any ideas what's going on with the Exoddus, why does NOT the game run as it should do? What am I missing? Unlike the game description says here, Abe's Exoddus runs all but well on Wine. I really want to play this great adventure game after so many years, so any conclusive help you can offer is very welcome.

strange problem
by Florian on Tuesday July 22nd 2008, 11:41
As the subject says, I have a strange problem with this game.
The english demo works without a problem. But my german version crashes with an unhandled exception.
-I haven't installed Directx.(I'm not that stupid.)
-The game works under windows and I bought it in a normal shop, it's NOT a copy.
-I installed it from the cds without any modifications.
cannot launch the game

I run Kubuntu Feisty Beta. Installation went fine, I think. I installed it onto my Windows partition and clicked I wished to install DirectX.
when I run it now from the play disk, it says:
"Can't set mode trying 640x480x8"
then:
"Can't set mode trying 640x480x16"
and finally:
"SetMode failed err=-2005532552"
I tried setting Wine to emulate a virtual desktop 640x480, even though I don't know what that is supposed to mean, but it didn't help.
