What works
Played through the game at highest graphics settings. No major problems.
What does not
Dynamic processor clock (Cool'n'Quiet etc.) has to be turned off.
Ingame graphics stutter (very short pause every 1-2 seconds) after video playback (visions). Game has to be restarted to recover. Playing is possible even with these hiccups though. It's just a bit annoying.
There are minor graphical glitches in levels with long light beams (Hall of Learning, The Hourglass).
Not sure all graphical effects were the way they are intended to be. Water is almost invisible. I didn't see any effect when toggling the "Water effects" option.
Got two non-reproducable crashes while playing (something like "error opening file" as last error on console).

Additional Comments
Used an nvidia 9600GT with the 173.14 and 177.82 driver. Tested before with an ATI HD 3850 and fglrx 8.12. With ATI the game graphics are completely garbage even at lowest settings.
I am installing from an external DVD RW drive (Sony DRU-830A) connected via USB. These are legitimate CDs and have installed and ran just fine a couple years ago on Windows XP.
