No Disc Inserted
by Darrell White on Thursday January 13th 2011, 22:34
I am new to linux/wine. I got RT3 to install but when I try to run I get No Disc Inserted even though I have disc 2 in the CD drive. Is there a trick to getting the CD recognized?
Cannot launch game 2 times
by nicola manca on Monday November 1st 2010, 5:31
I've just reinstalled Railroad Tycoon 3 on my Debian squeeze (winever 1.1.42). All went fine and game run correcyly the first time. But when I tryed ti laung it the second it saud something about mi video output that doesn't support directX8, I removed the configuration file engine.cfg and all was fine again, just for the firt run of course.
It seems as the game save something he doesn't like in his own configuration file.
I tried to reintall the game accepting the installation of directx8 but there's the same problem. I tried to change video preferences at the first startup of the game, but all I was able to obtain was a wine crash instead of a game complain.
fullscreen problem
by Alessandro Sellerio on Monday November 30th 2009, 14:55
Dear all, I have been using RT3 (v1.06) for about two years without any trouble (except a little bit of graphical garbage on the ground textures when looking with the camera in the lowest position).
However, since I upgraded to Kubuntu 9.10, RT3 does not want to start in fullscreen anymore, but only at my desktop native resolution.
I have a 1440x900 pixel screen. The pc is a laptop with an Nvidia card (8600gs). The Kubuntu configuration is pretty standard, no hacking with drivers and so on.
When I run RT3, it goes fullscreen at any resolution step lower than my monitor (causing low quality, blurry images), but when I change the resolution to 1440x900 it makes the screen blank for a moment, and then it comes out windowed (in a window bigger than the screen, because its content is probably 1440x900).
If I repeat the steps, changing the resolution and or setting fullscreen on and off (inside the game), after a few trys my composite manager shuts down. However, it still cannot go fullscreen. I can restart compositing with no problems to the system (alt-maj-f12), but still no fullscreen.
Do you have any idea? May I give you some other information? Thanks,
-Alessandro
