Old test results
The test results for this version are very old, and as such they may not represent the current state of Wine. Please consider submitting a new test report.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Installing the (full version of the) game. Running the game. Sound works perfectly and graphics are fine (until you save/load). Full-screen in a virtual desktop works.
What does not
When one saves or loads, the game inverts its colors until it either is restarted or has its resolution changed.
In addition, an error will occasionally occur when attempting to exit the game (via the in-game menu) and the game will crash.
What was not tested
Fullscreen or windowed mode in a non-virtual desktop. Playing for an extended period of time. Various visibility settings.
Additional Comments
I would have given it platinum had it not been for the color issues. One's parks can get very large in this game and saving/loading is a necessity, meaning that it's nigh-unplayable later on unless one knows the workaround: changing the game's resolution (through the in-game options) reverts the colors to normal temporarily (thanks to James Donley for this fix).

Patch
Anyone who is having problems, please install the patch before posting, adding bugs, or writing tests.
Thank you.
HOWTO
To get it all running, some instructions need to be followed. Apparently there are different copies of this game that behave differently, this is for my copy, which is the UK Hasbro Interactive disc, which is yellow (there are non UK ones, blue ones and black ones too).
Grab the UK version of the patch from here: http://www.atari.com/rollercoastertycoon/test/patches/RCT-UK.exe.
To make the patch work:
Install the game (needs to be freshly installed so the registry keys are put in place for the patch to find the the game). The installer won't work unless you are in its directory.
Now copy /English/RCT.icd from the game CD to the game's install directory.
Now run the patch, which should work.
Now run the game!
To clarify, you need to run (change paths to your own system):
The only 'RTC' in the American version was a .exe (no difference?)
I just copied it anyway and the game worked.
Also, the file will be under .../American/... instead of .../English/...
for the Anerican version.
