HOWTO Install titan poker

As I see many people say that after installation windows are crashing and cashier is not working, so i decided to write this simple howto that will guide you step by step to have fully working Titan Poker with cashier, registration etc.

So lets move to howto.

First you must download and install ies4linux. After that run internet explorer and navigate to http://titanpoker.com and press "download", when pop up shows, select "open" instead of "save". After downloading finishes, installation wizard should pop, just follow instruction till installation is done.

After that your titan poker should be up and fully runing because it will be installed under ies4linux enviroment, which is required to run it.

If it's not working, try running it with command: env WINEPREFIX='/home/YourAccount/.ies4linux/ie6' wine 'C:\Poker\Titan Poker\casino.exe'

If it's still not working, let me know with some details :)

WARNING
To get titan poker to work, you MUST follow installation HOWTO, otherwise it will not work.

Imho, installing through ies4linux is a crutch. Wine should be able to install and run windows software naturally and support the browser operations through the intended API. This is very lacking atm. Support for ies4linux is not as great in several distributions and having to run it alongside your 'normal' wine install isn't really nice imho. Sure, it's a practical solution, but it's not what it's supposed to be like.

That being said, i attached a 'fix' to the bug i reported for crashing windows, but regrettably it's not been acted upon in any way.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library error
by Aurélien Croc on Monday January 22nd 2007, 16:52
I tried to install and use the titan poker application with Wine 0.9.29 and when i close a window i have a popup named "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library" with the message :
Runtime error
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in a unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Moreover some messages are not printed like messages which are shown in the screenshot at the bottom left and no sound is present.

Finally, we cannot create new accounts...

I tried different dll configuration and use riched20, riched32, msvcrt etc. in native mode from win2k DLL but it's the same or more troubles appears.

Hope to find a solution soon.
