Additional Comments
Essentially one can install the game using the Wine Wrapper, but the game will NOT launch. So, to fix this, one must find and install the NO-CD patch (google it): installation is merely replacing the two main 1503Startup.exe and the annowelt.dll files. With the second CD inserted (or mounting an ISO using toast [I have v10]) the opening trailer begins and other items show.
The main menu appears and the menu works normally. However, one CANNOT start a new game. However, the game DOES work otherwise. What one has to do is get ahold of a saved game (I had a game listed as "Last Game") and to load the saved game. I did so and was able to play a nearly new game. The gameplay is very clean and works just as well as playing on a Windows machine.
I thus dub this "Bronze" because lots of alteration (and possibly torrenting) is taking place. Also, I am not aware of how readily available save files are for ANNO 1503 AD. I, or perhaps someone else may post a link to save files which relate to the start of a new game in ANNO 1503 AD for the various levels.
