What works

Installation (with minor work-around) with selected Win98 in winecfg

Mounted the CD to /mnt/cdrom and installed by using:

wine "e:/setup.exe"

When prompted for the next cd, un-mounted the CD via a seperate terminal and then re-mounted the new CD to /mnt/cdrom

Installation worked like a charm.


What does not

The game itself. Crashed with various errors.


What was not tested
Everything after the installation point.

unless wine is run by root (not recommended) you need to have winecfg on Win98

Starting game with original media

You need to set WinVer to "Windows 2000" (Winecfg) for the media validation to work (SafeDisc 1.3).

The game also needs MFC42 library -> "winetricks mfc42"

Tested with Wine 1.3.21
