Old test results
The test results for this version are very old, and as such they may not represent the current state of Wine. Please consider submitting a new test report.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)

What works

Connection dialog, when the files mstsc.exe and mstscax.dll are manually copied from a working Windows 2000 machine to /windows/system32 in the Wine installation.

What does not

Installer, msrdpcli.exe.  Installation process proceeds until the dialog box for "Installing Remote Desktop Connection. The program features you selected are being installed" appears.  Installer then terminates with error dialog "Remote Desktop Connection cannot be installed because your operating system already has a built in version."

Server connections.  The connection dialog box from a manual installation (copying mstsc.exe and mstscax.dll from a working Windows 2000 installation) never completes the connection.  After several minutes, an error dialog appears and states "Fatal error - error code 7.  The session will be disconnected.  Your computer may be low on memory.  After closing some applications, try to reconnect the session."

What was not tested
Everything else.  No connection was possible.

Additional Comments

Used winecfg to set Windows 2000 environment for all above tests. Installation also failed as above when Windows XP environment was used.

# To add to the above post

# As the mstsc.exe file is in (or should be) the %systemroot%/system32 directory you will not
# need to add the full path.

# For fixed window size and console access try :-
wine mstsc.exe -v: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -console /w:1024 /h:768

# or simplify it by trying with a full screen
wine mstsc.exe -v: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -console /F

I couldn't even paste the host name.

What to do:

wine /pathto/c/windows/system32/mstsc.exe /v:HOSTNAME

If you have foreign characters in login-name, do as above. Kill the app, then start it. Your hostname should be cached in the combobox, and by clicking Options you will be able to input username and password.
