Can fail install silently
by Jeremy Huddleston on Wednesday June 15th 2011, 10:37
3DMark 2001 can silently fail to install properly. It will look like it succeeded, but when you run it, you will see:

~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/MadOnion.com/3DMark2001 SE $ wine
./3DMark2001SE.exe
err:module:attach_process_dlls "grphmfc.dll" failed to initialize, aborting
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\Program
Files\\MadOnion.com\\3DMark2001 SE\\3DMark2001SE.exe" failed, status e06d7363

The problem was some GLX problems during the install. I reinstalled, and it ran successfully.

performance comparison to Win XP
by naos on Sunday February 15th 2009, 10:27
I ran ver. 360 on Ubuntu 8.10 + Wine 1.1.14 and on Windows XP on the same machine.

The specs:
- Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6 Ghz
- Nvidia 7600 GST
- 6GB DDR2 800Mhz

Wine score: 19243
Windows XP score: 27139

No artefacts, rendering looked perfect for me.

Works fine, but a few graphical glitches
by Nita on Monday May 14th 2007, 11:46
Running with the default settings (1024x768x32 compressed textures, double buffering, pure T&L, no AA, 32bit Z-buffer) gives me a nice 8405 3D Marks. Though, this is when I've got lots of other stuff running in the background and even Beryl.. :/

The app itself installs and works fine, atleast the benchmark ,but I noticed 3 graphical glitches: in the driving test there appears some grey things on the lower part of the screen at some point (#1), in the scene where the farmer is fishing the water in the lake doesn't look correct (#2) , and the ocean view has similar problem as number two (#3)
