The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Everything with only a few exceptions listed below.
What does not
Every time the application is launched I get a warning that sounds might not work. Ignore this message, the audio works fine with the default settings most of the time.
When launching a new campaign the story description that is supposed to scroll across the screen (like in the movies) is not visible. Simply wait and the introduction continues on.
Occasionally after playing for several hours the sounds suddenly dissappear. Restart the game to restore sound.
What was not tested
Multiplayer was not tested.
Additional Comments
Empire at War on Ubuntu 9.04 (64 bit) installs and runs almost perfectly with the 1.05 patch. It almost deserves a Gold rating, but the occasional sound problem and the fact that I have not tested multiplayer makes it a Silver rating so far.
The copy protection almost certainly requires a No-CD patch but you will not find any such material here.
d3dx9_27.dll - Located

I was getting this error as well. It can be fixed by installing DirectX from the SW:EAW disc. After you do that, the DLL should be in the system32 folder.
However, I am still getting an error on mss32.dll, saying that it can't be found, despite it's existing in the appropiate. Going to try the deshrinker, and if that doesn't work, downloading the DLL from a website.
