Additional Comments
Played one mission of the campaign. Installed and worked fine from `nexus.exe`; DirectX 8 and 9 exes are supplied but don't seem to be necessary.
There is no vsync so tearing will probably occur for most people.
Tested on:
Intel Core i5 3570k 3.4GHz
Nvidia GeForce 660TI
8GB RAM
The installer will take up the whole screen and won't give any status as to the installation progress. It's recommended to enable a virtual desktop under winecfg. Nexus requires at least a resolution of 1024 x 768.
There is currently a problem with how Wine handles cab files from multiple install discs. (Bug 4533) Nexus has two install discs with cab files in each of them. The cab files must be located in the same directory for the installer to work under Wine. The solution for this is to create a directory on your hard drive, copy all the contents of the first disc onto that directory, and then copy the remaining cab files that is found in the second disc onto the same directory.
Open a terminal session and cd into the directory which has all the contents from the Nexus install discs.
From here type the command .
From here, a wizard will appear which will guide you through the rest of the setup. Go through the wizard to install Nexus.

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident is protected using SafeDisc. Currently, Wine cannot run games off a cd that are protected using SafeDisc. A simple workaround would be to use no cd executables.
Download no cd executables and copy them over to the directory where Nexus was installed. The executables are called nexus_dx8.exe and nexus_dx9.exe. The no cd executables for Nexus 1.0 will also work for Nexus 1.01.
The CDs will no longer be needed. From here open a terminal session and cd into the directory where Nexus was installed.
