Installer quits prematurely
by Frederik Seidelin on Wednesday January 16th 2008, 12:50
I tried installing the game this afternoon, and it went fine until I unfortunately aborted the installation.

This evening I've wanted to try installing it again, but whenever I start it (by selecting no icon on the desktop), the Wine window shuts down. :\

I've deleted the registry entry as well as the Install Shield folder while trying to make it work, but to no avail. Any other suggestions?

Page Fault
by Joseph Pearson on Saturday January 5th 2008, 20:30
Alright, I patched SWBF to 1.2, copied over the no-cd patch and I get a the following page fault whenever I run it:

wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x00000004 at address 0x40963a (thread 0009), starting debugger...
Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0x00000004 in 32-bit code (0x0040963a).

Anyone know what's going on?

wine 0.9.42 installer hangs
by Jordan on Saturday August 4th 2007, 21:51
Once I start the installer (with either wine "D:\GameData\setup.exe" or wine setup.exe from the /media/cdrom0 directory), when the full-screen installer comes up, it stops responding and beeps when clicked.

I read in another thread that killing the KeyEntry.exe process allows it to continue, and it does, but it locks up again when you click Automatic install.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys!

No keyboard?
by pdw on Wednesday June 27th 2007, 7:00
It seems that in-game keyboard is broken. I can create a profile okay, but a few menus away (in controller config) It won't recognize the keys.
Trying to rebind a key, the 'press new key' dialog disappears if I do so, still the key doesn't get acknowledged.

Ingame the character just spins around. See my addition (when it'll be verified)

# umount -l /dev/hdc
# eject /dev/hdc

But when I enter the second cd no matter what I try (manually mounting, restarting hal & dbus)I can't get it mounted :(. suggestions anyone?

Wine version 0.9.25 works
by MagicalHobo on Sunday December 3rd 2006, 19:19
I was playing around with Wine, and tried Star Wars Battlefront under Wine version 0.9.25, and it works! I can currently run SWBF on high settings. It still requires a no cd crack in order to launch right, sometimes using LaunchBF.exe will fail, and Terminal still spits out millions of errors.

by Jediborger on Sunday September 17th 2006, 22:19
As of 0.9.21 this game is broken giving a lengthy error message. So for now stick with 0.9.20.

Some things I forgot
by Jediborger on Tuesday September 5th 2006, 17:59
Here's the link to get the patch to updgrade version 1.0 to 1.2, you should install this because it works better with wine, solves some game bugs, and adds a new map:
support.lucasarts.com/patches/Battlefront.htm

Also I forgot to mention that druing install you have to alt-tab through your windows back to the setup windows in order to type in the serial key otherwise nothing will happen.
