    I managed to install and play Prey using Wine 1.1.14, it worked just out of the box. I'll submit the test results in few minutes.

    On other hand - why use Wine if there's a native Prey installer ( icculus.org/prey/ )? It works great and its creator tries to help if there's a problem (just like with Polish DVD edition of Prey).

    Prey Retail runs great on 0.9.42
    by Brian S on Friday March 21st 2008, 17:30
    Xubuntu 6.10, AMD64 3800+, nVidia 7600GT SLI 256MB, Audigy2, 2GB RAM
    Prey Retail
    Wine 0.9.42 (not typo :-) from package
    Required for me:
    NoCD crack from Megagames
    Special startup script to renice 19 (fixed my jumpy mouse issues)
    $WINE_EXEC $GAME_BINARY $* &; sleep 2 &&; renice 19 -p `pgrep wineserver`
    PreyLauncher ONLY as executable, run from local dir

    Hope it works for you too,
    BrianS

    P.S. On Ascent, level 17; sorry didn't post sooner.
    Also sorry can't post script :-(
    Was checking if I dare upgrade OS/Wine before finishing
