Multiplayer

Anyone get multiplayer to work for this or any Infinity Engine game? The game itself runs fine in the latest wine and with HoW installed, but can't get a multiplayer game running via TCP/IP in a home network.
have installed fine:)

have installed fine in wine used acetone iso in ubuntu patchedit with the heart of winter expansion and added a nocd krack is working 99.9%, the cursor seems glitchy for all those having sound problems, make sure uhave all types checkmarked in sound under wine prefrences but awesome install, just make sure u have all disc images mounted at the same time it will find the virtual drives easy enough
'IWD Ultimate Collection' possible to intall?
by James Cousins on Wednesday May 6th 2009, 7:41
Does it matter if I purchase the 'IWD Ultimate Collection' (which contains all the IWD's on one DVD)? Will that still be able to install IWD and Trials without error?
Or do you think it is better to get the normal boxed version of IWD1 + Exp?
Can't get past character creation
by Chris on Sunday March 22nd 2009, 20:36
Hm, I remember that at *some* point I was able to, but I hadn't actually really played through IWD before in wine.
I gave it a try recently (wine version 1.1.17), and no matter what I do, after I create a party and click "Done", the game loads about 80%, stalls, and then crashes. No message box errors, no C++ errors (as I thought it might be, since IWD2 has similar crashes if I create a party with more than 1 character).
Console output gives me this:
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7e1c18a0 "x11drv_main.c: X11DRV_CritSection" wait timed out in thread 0026, blocked by 0009, retrying (60 sec)

Strange Stuttering in the Severed Hand?
by Ben Leggett on Saturday July 26th 2008, 12:46
I'm running wine-1.1.0 with IWD+HOW+TOTLM, and upon entering the interior of the Severed Hand, I get strange 1 second pauses every three or so seconds. If I leave, this stops, and I haven't had this happen in any other area so far. I've tried twiddling varios config options, but no luck. Can anyone else verify this?

Crashes after saving
by Benoit Smith on Friday March 28th 2008, 16:10
Good news - with the latest Wine version, I managed to install IWD, fully extended and patched to 1.42, and start a new game.
Bad news - the game crashes every time I save it. Even worse - "every time" includes the auto-saves caused by leaving an area - which means that right now, my "Fellowship of the Six" (well, sort of) is stuck in the starting area, the town of Easthaven !
Please did anyone come across a similar problem and find a solution/workaround for it ? Any help would be greatly appreciated !
