Sorry for my previous double-post. :(
However, I took the time to write a short installation HowTo for ReBirth on Kubuntu Hardy:

16-bit support missing - workaround
by ^Rooker on Friday June 20th 2008, 5:26
I've found a workaround for the "16-bit support missing" problem on "ubuntuforums.org": ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=4713701

Before running the application, change sysctl settings:
# sudo sysctl -w vm.mmap_min_addr=0

Warning: This loses effect after each reboot - so you have to run sysctl every time before you start your windows app.

Only help window showing.
by Truls Tangstad on Sunday June 15th 2008, 13:15
If you have problems only getting the help-window, try starting ReBirth in the same directory as one of the demo-songs and passing the song as a parameter on the commandline, that got past it for me.

16-bit support missing, no DOS subsystem?
by Zach on Saturday May 3rd 2008, 11:55
Whenever I try to start Install ReBirth RB-338.EXE, I get this error.
(There were bunch of errors prior to it, but they happen with everything I start...)
err:dosmem:load_winedos Could not load winedos.dll, DOS subsystem unavailable
winevdm: unable to exec '--app-name': 16-bit support missing
This was on Ubuntu 8.04 with Wine .9.59 guised as Win98. (I got the same error messages with XP)

Regression?
by Josh Faulkner on Saturday May 26th 2007, 20:44
I don't know if it is an audio driver issue, but I can't seem to get this running with wine 0.9.37. Any suggestions?
