What works
pretty much everything, except the issue on planetary battles:
installation
intro video
playing the game @1024x768 resolution, all details are set to the highest
sound, music
rendering, animation
mouse cursor
loading, saving
What does not
frequently crashes when entering a planetary battle, see comments below
no other issues were observed
What was not tested
completing the game (I've played only 3-4 hours)
Additional Comments
Digital distribution version, doesn't contain Starforce.
Installed into a clean wine environment, worked out-of-the-box without any dll overrides.
Stable and good performance even on the highest details, except the crash when entering a planetary battle. It's not clear if it is Wine's fault, there are reports about the crash when using Windows, too. I have no Windows installed so can't verify the issue.
To eliminate the crash you need to disable most of the effects in Settings >> Planetary battles: all types of shadows and metal on ground/objects.

SkipVideo=true no longer needed

Under wine 0.9.25 I no longer need SkipVideo=true. I'm able to see the intro movies for the first time! There are some issues with audio sync however, at the end of the movie the sound is lagging ~1.5 seconds behind.
The RTS missions still do not work, with the same issues as allways:
