What works
Everything, excepting the steam community overlay in-game.

What does not
Steam Community in-game, like all steam games.

What was not tested
Just played the first couple levels so far, but I've had no problems,

Additional Comments

Some issues with it defaulting to High level shadows on my FX5200, but that's probably not an issue with wine.

Keyboard Input-2
by Mark Sutherland on Friday February 4th 2011, 19:51
I ran into the same problem as I had encountered in Half-Life version 1.1.1.0 and left a response to in comments, however this time the same dll override did not work and I have had no success using the keyboard in conjunction with this game. Any help would be great.

P.S. I've noticed this game is posted twice, once under half-life 2 and once under Half-Life: Source. I would prefer the "Source" posting, as that is where I looked first, but if the same posts would be recognized under both locations, it would be of assistance.

Crashing after same time of playing
by k00pa on Monday August 18th 2008, 0:38
HL2:deathmatch works nice and runs well, but on server with many plaers it crashes in 10 seconds. With local server it just dont crash. On server with 1-2 I can play longer, but it still crashes randomly on some action, never when waiting. Example, shoothing with magnum, shooting barrel, granade...

I have this problem only in hl2:deathmatc normal hl2, episodes, portal, css and tf2 works well.

MSI installer
by Dean Hamstead on Tuesday January 2nd 2007, 18:12
I would like to verify that the MSI installer works without any tweaks.

I got a promotional dvd from a LANparty which included 'licenses' for HL2, HL2DM and CSS.

Steam from the dvd was quite outdated, so i installed from the steampowered.com website. Made an account, put in my license key.
Steam wanted to download the whole game. I canceled it. Inserted the dvd and when into the hl2 folder and ran the setup.exe. All went smoothly. I ran steam - it needed to update but it saved upwards of 80% of the download.
