The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
The installer (though it claims not to, it just needs msvcirt.dll as mentioned earlier).
Starting the application.
What does not
Selecting OpenGL as the graphics version. Direct3D or Heidi must be enabled for the program to start. Changing the entry under gmax.ini (towards the bottom) seems to work just fine, as does a reinstall or deleting the gmax.ini file.
Anything after the load of the program (see below).
What was not tested
Just about everything (see below).
Additional Comments
Right after GMax loads, it hangs for about half a second (which seems normal). Then an error message pops up about MaxScript. And another. And another. And another. About 50 to a hundred messages pop up, and it is impossible to close/click OK on any of them Closing the program through the gui doesn't seem to work, I ended up just xkill/wineserver -k/^C^C ing it. Nothing special shows up in the terminal, just standard messages about unimplemented Direct3D settings. Somewhere around the 30th error message, font rendering goes belly-up and begins rendering text as seemingly arbitrary Unicode. I'm really hoping this is fixed in 1.1.15.
System information: Ubuntu 8.10 Ibex, Wine 1.1.14, Nvidia GeForce 9600M GS with 173.14.12 drivers that haven't given me any other issues.

With wine 1.3.3 and no other changes

Still on UBUNTU 10.04.1
gmax crashes if you attempt to open the material navigator. Basically this means you cannot texture a model from the library. This is true for vanilla gmax or if you open it with the SC3BAT gamepack.
The package should be reduced from bronze to garbage.
