It is actually possible to play the demo somewhat, just have to be careful not to do anything that crashes it.
For example, pressing escape ingame will crash instantly, pressing enter before you can do anything will aswell.
This game used to work much better before, so it's looking like a regression to me, will look into it when I have time.
