This is jre 1.6.0.2.
the problem may have someting todo with java's use of directx, then again.
My Video card ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 has known issues with Open GL . So someone else should test this too be sure my video card isn't being naughty.
I also run the same application on jre 1.6.0.34 in ubuntu with no problem.
this problem also appeared in 10.04
