Description

The first version (2006) of Watchtower Reader.

Old test results
The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)

What works
Nearly everything, with a dll override and a custom made third party (GPL) font. Syncronization between Readers and Reader <-> Library, also older versions.

What does not

Without dll override: tooltips, and the special marginal/footnote characters.

Seems there are some more special chars in this one compared to wtlib. Like next and last day for daily text. Minor issue.

What was not tested
nothing I know of.

Additional Comments

needs a comctl32.dll (XP/2000) override to work completely (cosmetic)

No buttons over book list!
by realtebo on Saturday January 19th 2008, 2:24
Without the button to navigate into the book list, how can we do it?

To return after a serarch to the list of all the pubblications, we can simply click on 'all pubblications', but ...

.. if you click on Books, and so open a book, and so you want to return to start list, how can you do this?

I think this is not valuable for gold, because some feature is missing!

Icons when using native comctl32
by Maciej on Wednesday January 9th 2008, 3:13
After doing everything in the wiki I could finally enjoy a working WTLib. There is one "but" - icons are garbled when using native comctl32.dll. Anyone have the same issue?

Also, I had to copy MEPS dll files to WTLib directory, it crashed when I didn't.

WTLib2007 and Wine 0.9.42 on SuSE 10.0
by Gymnart on Monday January 7th 2008, 10:21
I just installed it but the tooltips do not work and there's no sound and no maps.
I already have comctl32dll in .wine/drive_c/windows/system32/ and it was there when I installed WTLibrary 2007.

Trying that trick that says to delete the contents of the manifests folder in winsxs did not work, WTLib could not open.

To install, I just popped in the CD and opened the install.exe with Wine. The installation went fine, I didn't have to do anything. To start it, I had to delete the .ink file and found that the WTLibrary start icon had been hidden underneath it. When I clicked on the WTLibrary icon, it started up fine except for the problems mentioned above. I miss the maps, sound, and tooltips.

I was impressed though to see that even my favorites had been carried over from the 2006 version to the 2007 version.

Watchtower Reader Favorites
by David Landman on Thursday November 22nd 2007, 13:35
I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 along with Wine version 9.49 and Watchtower Reader 2006. Whenever I save an article as a Favorite, the Favorites menu correctly displays the name of the article. However, any of the articles that I select from my favorites only brings up the first article in the viewing pane. So if I have 3 articles saved, any of the articles I click on bring up the first article that I have saved for viewing. I am wondering if this ever worked with other versions of Wine or if this is just some bug that has not been addressed yet. Also, if anyone has a solution or even a temporary fix, any help is greatly appreciated.

WTLibrary2006 + Wine0944
by Gymnart on Wednesday September 12th 2007, 15:31
I'm using SuSE 10.0 and I just installed wine 0.9.44 (not from an rpm).

Most of it works for me except tooltips and the daily text does not change when I click on a date. Also, the ordering in the "Most Occurances" window does not work.

Previously, I had wine 0.9.12 and used dll's from my old Windows 2000/ME computer and all these things were working beautifully.

I did try to copy those dll's to the new wine's folder but that did not work.

If anyone has overcome these problems, please let me know.

Didn't work for me Wine 9.35
by John Coleman on Tuesday April 17th 2007, 15:56
Using Linux Mint 2.1 (BEA) and 2.2 (Bianca) [Ubuntu/Debian]

Watchtower Reader and Library were working fine for the most part with Wine 9.34. When I did an update to 9.35 the fonts were off and I couldn't get it to work. The font looked Mono spaced and unreadable and could not be changed within the Wt library preferences.
I removed 9.35 and reloaded 9.34 and things worked again. Just a heads up.

Installation fails in CrossOver Mac 6.0
by Reidar Djupvik on Monday February 12th 2007, 15:35
When I try to install I get a message that says: "Available space: MB
Required space: 50MB" This is after having installed Watchtower Library into the same bottle. Seems like it doesn't get the available disk space.
