The most common version currently in use, Acrobat Pro 6.0 installs and mostly works, but still lacks critical functionality under wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Installed and printed different types of documents. Opens images and prints them to .pdf. Prints text files and html files.
Created links within documents, annotations, and notes.
Can drag and drop html document directly into acrobat. Can drag and drop .txt into acrobat. Can drag and drop .jpg and .png into acrobat
Can select text and copy to clipboard
Acrobat can scan documents within program (i.e. Wine). Had to assign a usb port to a drive. In my case Drive letter A:/dev/bus/usb/004:007/
What does not
Paper capture does not work.
Cannot drag and drop .doc or .xls into acrobat.
What was not tested
Distiller was not tested.
Additional Comments
Got it to install under wine first time after choosing custom install. Uncheck paper capture options. Paper capture will install after installing directx 9.0c
Got it to install with no problems the second time. NOTE!!!! Installed XP in virtual box and copied entire System32 directory to Wine System 32 directory and got all the plugins to load. i.e. no error messages.
I am using Mint14 linux version.

Bypass blank screen with setup.exe

First copy the adobe6-setup folder to your disk. Search for Arcobats .msi-file - name should be Acrobat.msi, AcroStd.msi or AcroPro.msi - its the only .msi so it should be easy to find. Copy this .msi to "Adobe Reader 6.0.msi", then start setup with "wine msiexec /i Acrobat.msi" (or whatever your name is). Customizing features may not work, UI-Language seems to be ignored.
