This is free developement software for the SX line of microcontrollers.

What works

  • Flawless Installation
  • Editor works smoothly
  • Compilation/Assembly works without a hitch


What does not

  • Does not recognize communications ports, even when they are linked into the dosdevices directory
  • Help doesn't respond. (compiled HTML help file)


What was not tested
Debugging using the SX-Key Hardware, anything dependant on the com port.

Must have COM port to be useful.

Lack of COM Ports

The SX-Key IDE is looking for HKLM\hardware\devicemap\serialcomm. This is a dynamic part of the registry and gets wiped each time windows boots. Bug 11811 notes this fact.
