I'm having a Problem launching this thing.
When I try to launch the game it automatically starts a hardware scan.
After the scan is completed it says that I have more than enough resources to run it on all counts except the pixel shader 1.1 support. That is weird because I know for a fact that My GPU has it(since this game ran just fine on my machine on win XP). Any thoughts?

Game does not start with wine-1.1.17
by Florian on Wednesday April 1st 2009, 4:21
Hi,
I tested Warrior Within with wine-1.1.16 and it does not start. It crashes right after profile creation/selection. I currently run it with wine-1.1.12. I did not try latest wine yet, but I think this problem is not fixed since it did not work with *17 either.
Can somebody confirm it?
Sound driver problem.
by Ujin on Friday February 13th 2009, 16:18
It seems that wine cannot initialize sound for POP. In diagnostic screen there is a red cross showing no sound detected and so game doesn't start at all. I've tried all the possible drivers OSS, Alsa etc. Any Ideas?
font problem

When I try to edit the controls (keyboard), every key label appears as "[]", instead of e.g. "w" no matter what I assigned them to. This applies also to the game hints; when it advices to press a certain key, it shows just []. It is very annoying. Other than that, everything works just fine. Any suggestions?
fc 7, x86_64, wine 1.0 (but this bug appeared in some earlier versions too).
Upside Down
by Phil on Tuesday July 15th 2008, 0:42
I'm running Prince of Persia Warrior Within on Ubuntu 8.04 with Wine 1.1.1. For some reason when playing it, everything is upside down during gameplay.
When I try and play this game I get "The game process was manually killed" in a popup right after loading screen (the one after the Prine of Persia logo, with big black and red circle pattern.
In the console output, among lots of other stuff that looks unrelated to the error I get:

Ubuntu 7.10 , geforce 6200 128mb video ram
The following helped me play Prince of Persia with quite playable speed.
I had similar problems as described above like 2 fps speed etc.
I made the registries as pointed at the beginning, used the patched POP2.exe but things didn't work with wine.
Finally I decided to downgrade NVIDIA drivers so I found
the drivers actually solved the problem for me.
The driver version that allowed me to play prince of persia is:
100.14.19
this driver for NVIDIA grafics card is located at:
