Sound did not work at first. I had to change the sound driver in wine config from ALSA to OSS. Then I had to use the "padsp" command as a wrapper around WINE.
Example (This will allow sound on Ubuntu 8.04):
padsp wine TheRosettaStone.exe
What was not tested
The microphone was not tested.
Additional Comments
It probably would run fine on Ubuntu 7.10 since it does not use pulse audio.
