Out of the box it works perfectly with code-weavers WINE, but the recent updates create a glitch with the lexicon window; it's not drawing right. You can still use it, but you have to double-click the title bar to be able to see it properly; and even then for some reason the menus are not drawing correctly so you can't switch lexicons w/o changing your default in the preferences.
Old test results
The test results for this version are very old, and as such they may not represent the current state of Wine. Please consider submitting a new test report.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Nearly everything that I use, which is primarily the command line, Bible version display pane, parsing/quick info pane, and lexicons.
What does not
1. "Tools - Options - Updates - Check for Updates" does not work.
2. After upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04, most fonts in the program displayed in an elaborate cursive font called Amazone which is not easy to read. After
a. changing the "English" fonts in "Tools - Options - Fonts" "Command Center Fonts" and "Results Window Fonts" to "Lucida sans",
b. changing
/home/[username]/.wine/dosdevices/c:/windows/fonts
to read
/home/[username]/.wine/dosdevices/c:/windows/Fonts
by creating a symbolic link from "Fonts" to "fonts" (capitalizing the "Fonts" directory name),
c. installing the Arial font into Wine using Winetricks, and
d. changing the "English" fonts in "Tools - Options - Fonts" "Command Center Fonts" and "Results Window Fonts" back to "Arial",
all fonts displayed correctly. Partway through this process, default English fonts in the parsing pane and in the lexicons remained in Amazone.
If I do not make a symbolic link from "Fonts" to "fonts" but instead simply rename "fonts" to "Fonts", English fonts display acceptably (with some default sans serif font) but the Greek and Hebrew fonts do not display correctly; they display in English characters.
3. After closing the program, a dialog box pops up saying the following:
------------
Program Error
The program bw500.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. You may want to check the Application Database for tips about running this application.
------------
What was not tested
Everything other than the command line, Bible version display pane, parsing/quick info pane, and lexicons.
