Here is the deal, there are so many points to consider before using this app. First of all you have to download manually or use winetricks to get mfc42.dll to at least open the program. You will be able to see under OPTIONS -> VIDEO OPTIONS that no one compressors has been detected so second you have also to install allcodecs from winetricks to solve that problem. Now you are almost there. Third you might need to disable hardware acceleration for your video and the only way I found was by creating a xorg.conf and setting OPTION NOACCE TRUE. Now the last two things you gonna have to do is to set the audio on OPTION -> RECORD AUDIO FROM MICROFONE or SPEAKER and when you set up your canvas for recording you gona have to set both width and heigt so they are divisible by 2 (I am not a pro on audio stuff but I found that tip and it really does work). Well its is running.
Now, to get the best of the StudioCam Recording, consider downloading and installing the StudioCam Codec. With the traditionals codecs I got an average of 4fps when in fullscreen mode. With the lossless StudioCam Codec I get 18+ fps. (So.. a really good deal!)
I did not rated as silver because I still need to solve the other issues but regarding the recorder.. i consider it GOLD!
