EndNote searches bibliographical databases in the Internet, creates reference databases locally, and automatically formats bibliographical references on MS Word documents according to standard notations. There are similar open source/free software applications (OpenOffice + Bibus), but they are not 100% compatible. OpenOffice looses the EndNote-formatted references when importing from MS Word DOC files. Hence the need for running MS Word and EndNote under Wine.

What works
The installer works, but towards the end of the installation it crashes without finishing it.
What does not
The installation crashes displaying a dialog, "Installation ended prematurely because of an error". The program itself crashes before opening a window. I tried different custom installs, leaving parts of the program slotted to not install, and I still got the same result.
What was not tested
I tested everything I could. The program does not run, for it is not properly installed.
